The stock symbol or ticker symbol is a short abbreviation used to uniquely identify publicly traded shares of a particular stock on a particular stock market. A stock symbol may consist of letters, numbers or a combination of both. "Ticker symbol" refers to the symbols that were printed on the ticker tape of a ticker tape machine.

Company Name:

The company name, also known as a brand is a distinguishing name and/or symbol, intended to identify a product or producer. A protected brand name is called a proprietary name.

Company Description:

The company description identifies in a brief paragraph what the company does.

Investment Sector:

The investment sector identifies which segment of the economy the company operates in.

Predicted Split Months:

The predicted split months identifies the typical months on when a company will announce a stock split.

Stock Exchange:

The stock exchange is a mutual organization which provides "trading" facilities for stock brokers and traders, to trade stocks and other securities. We have NASDAQ, NYSE and AMEX traded stocks listed.

Predicted Split Price:

The predicted split price is the historical stock price the company will usually announce their intentions to split their stock.

Predicted Split Ratio:

The predicted split ratio is a historical division the company usually wishes to increase their outstanding shares by.

5 Day Performance After Split:

The 5 day performance after split is the percentage gain the company will usually increase by based on historical price performance and sector performance.

Prior Stock Splits:

The prior stock splits is the amount of stocks splits the company has had.

Stock Split History:

The stock split history lists all dates the company has split their shares.
